The word “product” is not mentioned once in the Agile Manifesto or the twelve agile principles. Agile Alliance does not have a definition of “product” in their Agile Glossary – yet Product Ownership is an important part of agile. No wonder many organisations and people are asking themselves what is my product anyway?
In this talk Benjamin Sommer will look at different ways of defining your product and show how a conscious product definition can help you avoid just adding more and more features and enable you to innovate better and with higher financial return.Getting the product definition right is not just about the “product”, but also the customer and your business model.

Benjamin is recognized worldwide as an expert in Agile and Scrum and he holds the two highest-level certifications in the field: CST (Certified Scrum Trainer) and CEC (Certified Enterprise Coach) by the Scrum Alliance. His focus is on helping organizations achieve business agility, make product teams go faster and deliver more value.
He currently serves as chairman of the board for Checkd AS, member of the board at Camo Analytics and as an observer on the board of Resoptima AS. Mr. Sommer holds an MBA in internationalization from University of Agder and executive education from Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.Geir has been working with software development since late 1980’s in many different roles. He is now a part of the Norwegian investment and consultancy company Lean Venture, and works as a coach guiding companies in their struggle to become agile.
